A camp for the women and children

A women's and children's encampment, the Hunter's Widow Rendezvous is held the weekend following Trapper Days.

The purpose of each rendezvous held at the South Platte Valley Historic Park is to recreate the look and feel of the late fur trade era, rather than to recreate a specific event.

  • Inside the Hunter's Widows tent: a pink-draped table, a sheepskin chair, green sheers and a camp lantern
  • Three women in period dress, one in a calico jacket and mob cap, seated on a bench and smiling
  • A woman in a blue dress with two girls in period dresses beside a tipi

Other rendezvous

Held by the Tallow River Trappers, the living history department of the society.
